Media statement: Prohibited substance positive test for AFL player

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) acknowledges the Australian Football League (AFL) and Fremantle Dockers’ announcement today about player Ryan Crowley testing positive to a prohibited substance.

ASADA can confirm that Mr Crowley’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ samples have returned a positive result to a prohibited substance.

ASADA understands that Mr Crowley has voluntarily accepted a provisional suspension pending the outcome of his matter.

The next step is for this matter to proceed to a hearing of the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal.
