Find out more about the RTP

Athletes who are part of the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) need to let ASADA know where they are going to be, at specific times, so that ASADA can perform no-advance testing.

If athletes in the RTP do not provide current and accurate whereabouts information, they may incur Anti-Doping Rule Violations and subsequent sanctions.

Professional team sport athletes

Your club or national sporting organisation provides ASADA with your team training schedule, so you don’t need to provide whereabouts unless you are individually added to the RTP.

Athletes with intellectual disabilities

If an athlete with intellectual disabilities is included in the RTP, ASADA will make sure that one of the following people is also informed:

  • the athlete’s spouse
  • the athlete’s parent or guardian
  • the athlete’s coach
  • or a representative of a relevant sporting administration.

Finishing whereabouts

Athlete must continue to file whereabouts information until they are told they are not part of the RTP anymore and their last whereabouts period has passed, or if they retire.

National sporting organisations (NSOs)

National sporting organisations (NSOs) need to provide ASADA with the personal details of athletes from their sport who are part of the RTP. NSOs also need to give ASADA contact details for these athletes.

Delegating whereabouts to an Authorised Representative

Athletes are ultimately responsible for making sure that their whereabouts information is accurate, but they can nominate a trusted person, an Authorised Representative to submit and manage it on their behalf.

The athlete is also still responsible for making sure that they are at the specified location at the nominated time, whether or not they have logged their whereabouts.

Retirement and reinstatement forms

If an athlete in the RTP or DTP wishes to retire from active competition they must inform ASADA.

If an athlete has previously retired and wishes to return to active competition, they must also inform ASADA. The following forms allow athletes to inform ASADA of their intentions.
