Substances: Medications in Sport - Status List: A to F

Introduction

This list provides information on the sports anti-doping status for a range of Australian medications that might be used during In-Competition periods in sports as determined by MIMS Australia, according to the World Anti-Doping Code 2008 Prohibited List. Note that in the World Anti-Doping Code 2008 Prohibited List Section M2.2 intravenous infusion is prohibited. In an acute medical situation where this method is deemed necessary, a retroactive Therapeutic Use Exemption will be required.

The information listed here is appropriate during In-Competition periods for sports only. For information on the status of medications during Out-of-Competition periods please call the ASADA Anti-Doping Hotline 1800 020 506.

This list uses specific brand names and not generic product names i.e. ingredients. Please ensure that the name of the medication you are checking is exactly the same as the product listed.

The symbol corresponding with the product name indicates its status in sport. Each product will be listed as either permitted, subject to conditions, permitted for females only, or prohibited. Please check the key to symbols for an explanation of the meaning of each symbol.
