ASADA comments on SBS’ Insight program titled ‘Cheats in the Game’ - 17 October 2006

Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority’s (ASADA’s) new powers enable us to investigate any allegation of possible doping.

We look forward to speaking with anyone who can help us with any investigation.

Cycling Australia is working closely with ASADA and any media inquiries regarding comments made by Matt DeCanio on the SBS Television program Insight are to be referred to ASADA.

We encourage anyone with information on doping in Australian Sport to contact the ASADA Stamp Out Doping Hotline on 1800 645 700.

Editors Note:
When a sporting organisation or person provides ASADA with information that requires investigation into a possible doping violation, the integrity of the investigation must be paramount.

Every athlete has the right to a fair and impartial hearing. It is therefore inappropriate for ASADA to comment on any investigation. (ASADA Act 2006).
