The World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) states that No Advance Notice testing is at the core of effective doping control. Without accurate athlete location information such testing is inefficient and sometimes impossible.
The provision of athlete whereabouts filing enables effective sample collection.
Under the Code, athletes must submit accurate whereabouts information in a standard way.
All athletes in an International Federation and National Anti-Doping Organisation Registered Testing Pool must submit whereabouts information as per relevant requirements.
Failure to submit whereabouts filings or being unavailable for sample collection (i.e. missed test) on 3 occasions in an 18 month period, may result in an anti-doping rule violation.
ASADA will inform NSOs and athletes of their whereabouts requirements.
