The Australian Government recently established the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) as the new focal point in the fight against doping in sport. As opportunities arise, ASADA looks for suitable people to take on a variety of exciting roles within it's new organisational structure who will play an integral role in the Authority's future success. ASADA's Certified Agreement 2006-09 outlines the Authority's conditions of employment.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) coordinates anti-doping activity in Australia. ASADA is Australia’s driving force for Pure Performance in sport.
ASADA’s legal services charter is to ensure anti-doping rule violations are managed fairly and consistently within the principles of the World Anti-Doping Code.
The General Counsel position is an exciting and unique role leading in the national and international fight against doping in sport. Responsibilities will include strategic management of the Legal Services Team including a significant budget for legal expenditure. The successful applicant will provide direction in case management, briefs of evidence and presenting ASADA’s findings and/or recommendations before sporting tribunals.
The role will provide high level legal advice on issues such as the interpretation of the ASADA legislation, contractual and financial obligations as well as privacy issues. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as part of ASADA’s executive team, the role will also play a key part in enabling ASADA to meet its strategic objectives and goals.
The position is subject to a security assessment and the successful applicant will be required to undergo a medical assessment. Australian Citizenship is essential.
